Pennsylvania Car Accidents

One of the most alarming facts concerning car wrecks in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States is that most of them are preventable. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration reported in 2016 that anywhere between 24% to 26% of all auto collisions in the area are caused by some type of human error.

Hundreds of thousands of motor vehicle accidents take place in Pennsylvania each year. On average, the state sees around 125,000 vehicle collisions per year that lead to injuries for tens of thousands. More than 1,000 people lose their lives yearly in these wrecks. More often than not, traffic accidents are the result of driver negligence.

Driver experience, fatigue, or intoxication are common reasons auto accidents happen. About 30% of all auto collisions in the US are the result of driver intoxication. Speeding was the highest contributor to fatalities in car accidents in Pennsylvania in 2019.
