Pittsburgh, PA – Police Respond to Injury Wreck on Rt 28 near I-579

Pittsburgh, PA (April 14, 2022) – a car wreck reported in Pittsburgh resulted in injuries in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 14. At approximately 6:30 a.m., numerous responders were sent to the scene to help the involved parties. 

At least one person was hurt in the collision that occurred in the northbound lanes of Route 28 near Interstate 579. Police, EMTs, and fire crews were observed at the crash site shortly after. 

The contributing factors of the incident have not been reported to the public. At least one person was transported to an area hospital with injuries. 

Traffic delays were observed for approximately an hour following the accident. Local motorists were urged to use different routes of travel until the scene was cleared 

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
