Pittsburgh, PA – One Hospitalized After Wreck on Rt-8 near Spencer Lane & E Pennview St

Pittsburgh, PA (March 30, 2022) – One person was sent to the hospital after a serious traffic accident happened in Shaler on Tuesday evening, March 29. The incident was reported to authorities in the area at approximately 7:35 p.m. 

Various emergency responders were sent to the scene, located on Route 8, in order to assist those involved and investigate. The cause of the wreck is unknown at this time. 

The injured party was treated on-site before they were transported by ambulance to a local medical center for further care as needed. Their identity has not currently been released. 

The roadway was closed between Spencer Lane and East Pennview Street while local authorities investigated the circumstances of the collision. Traffic was backed up in the area for some time on the evening of March 29, and local drivers were asked to use caution or find different routes. 

Police officials in Pittsburgh continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
