Car Accidents in Pennsylvania
Being hurt in a car crash is no walk in the park. Depending on the circumstances and severity of an accident, it can be a life-altering experience. Victims who are hurt in vehicle collisions are usually transported by ambulance to area hospitals where they receive immediate and extensive medical care in order to recover from their injuries.
The costs associated with an ambulance ride alone are astronomical, especially when paid out-of-pocket. Injured crash victims may find themselves unable to cover the costs associated with their injuries, which can be extremely stressful. Not only do they have to pay for medical care that can last for days, weeks, or even months, they usually have to pay for vehicle repairs/replacement, physical therapy, and more. Injured crash victims may be forced to spend time out of work, which can result in lost wages, thus making it even more difficult to make ends meet.
Usually, auto accidents happen because of driver negligence. Driver negligence contributes to more than 90% of the car crashes reported in the United States. Drowsy, intoxicated, and distracted driving are the three leading types of driver negligence. Intoxicated driving is a contributing factor in more than 20% of accidents in the United States.
