Jackson, PA – Eric Ruhlman Killed in Severe Wreck on I-79 near Mile Marker 87

Jackson, PA (April 28, 2022) – Eric Ruhlman, 52, from Atlantic, was killed in a severe car accident that happened on Tuesday, April 26, near Harmony. According to reports from police, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. in Jackson Township. 

The two-car collision occurred near mile marker 87 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79. Harmony EMS along with crews from Portersville and Cranberry and state police were observed assisting at the scene near the Little Creek Road underpass. 

Reports indicate that a dump truck had collided with a pickup truck. How and why the wreck occurred remains under police investigation. Ruhman was airlifted from the scene to a Pittsburgh hospital where he later lost his life. 

The other involved driver sustained no injuries in the crash. I-79 was closed near Route 488 in Portersville and Zelienople for hours. Authorities in Jackson continue to investigate.
