Cranberry, PA (April 5, 2022) – State Police said multiple injuries were reported after a car struck a concrete barrier, guard rail, and two other cars. The accident occurred on March 29 at approximately 1:35 p.m. in Cranberry Township, Venango County.
Authorities stated that an 80-year-old, identified as Wayne F. Wehler, was headed west on U.S. Route 322 near the 8th Street Bridge when his vehicle went off the road and hit a concrete barrier before striking a guard rail.
When Wehler’s vehicle collided with the guard rail, it entered the eastbound lane and struck a car driven by Bonne L. Yeager, age 68 of Franklin, causing severe damage.
Wehler’s vehicle then hit another car driven by 74-year-old David B. Claypool of Utica. Yeager was transported from the scene to UPMC Northwest to be treated for unspecified injuries.
Wehler was injured but refused transport to the hospital. Claypool didn’t sustain any injuries.
Police officials in Cranberry continue to investigate the details of the collision.
